Welcome to Utah!

The summer was finally coming to an end, which meant that it was time to leave Texas and head to Orem, Utah, so Mike could start his final 2 years at BYU. I was so proud of him for getting accepted into BYU's brand new business finance program, but sad to leave my hometown and family behind in Texas. This is the first time my family has been split up. Next week, Lizzey leaves for BYU Hawaii, which will mean the Kopta's are spread across the nation!

Before we left, we had a dinner party with David, Sarah, Grandpa, and the rest of the family! It was so great to spend more time with everyone! I also got to go out to lunch and shopping with my good friend Brooke.

Our trip started with a 2 day drive to Cedar City, where we stayed for a week. Luckily my grandma and cousins live in Cedar, along with Mike's family, so I still got to be around those I love. My parents drove the Penske truck up with us, so I got to see them for an extra 2 days before they flew back to Texas. I already miss them!

A lot happened in Cedar during the week we were there. Daniel, Mike's younger brother, gave his farewell talk before leaving for the MTC. Family came from all around Utah and from Las Vegas to celebrate with him. Mike and I went shooting with Alyssa and Dallin. My best friend Shanna also came to visit from Colorado. Mike, Shanna, and I were able to go to Sand Hollows, which is a beautiful lake just outside St. George. I got to play a lot of games and activities with my cousins. One of the cool places we went was called Sub Zero, which is a really cool ice cream place! My cousins also just recently got 2 new snakes. I overcame my fear, by not only touching a snake, but by putting one around my neck like a scarf! Mike and I went hiking, running and biking a few times in Cedar. I also cut and colored my hair, cutting 7 inches of my hair off!!
