June

 For the second half of June, we actually had to go to work (BOO!), do grad school, etc. We are lucky because our community has 5 pools, tennis courts, and fitness facilities, so we are able to spend the nights playing sports. It's like free date night every night!

 I was able to meet up with one of my good friends from hygiene school- Brooke! Mike and I kind of live on the edge of civilization, where the country meets the suburbs. The malls are about 35-50 minutes away. Both of our jobs are with in 15 minutes of the house, so many weeks go by where I almost never leave the area. I met up with Brooke in Frisco and we went to the mall and the Cheesecake Factory! I had to take the freeway to get there (HA! which I never drive on anymore) and I remembered how bad Dallas traffic and the freeways can be. Makes me grateful I can go months without driving on the freeway. (This is funny because when we lived in Plano we lived right off of a major tollway, and daily drove a number of different freeways)

 In the summer, Grandpa likes to take the family out to steak dinner at one of his favorite restaurants. This year we went to Arthur's Prime Steak and Seafood in Addison. 

 I feel like we haven't had enough pictures of Mister Max lately! Don't worry, he still goes everywhere with us. 

3 Years of Marriage!

Denae, Malcolm, & Bryant were in town for the night, so they met Mike and I at the Fort Worth Stockyards for dinner at H3. 

 Mike had pre-booked us a hotel in the Stockyards so we could spend the weekend exploring Fort Worth.  Saturday we woke up ready for a day packed full of adventure.

 First off was the Fort Worth Water Gardens

 I told Mike we had mountains in Texas!! 

 After the water gardens we headed to the Fort Worth Zoo

 After the zoo we needed to rest our feet for a few hours before the night 5K, so we went and saw Jurassic World. 

 And then the madness began! Foam Glow 5k with the family @ Texas Motor Speedway

 After the 5k the sponsors had a large foam blasting dance party. We stayed and danced for about 2 hours. The next day our whole bodies were sore and we couldn't get out of bed til after 10- the one time I was grateful for 1:30 church!

Every year one of my bridesmaid's gets married in a different state on my anniversary weekend. This would make for an exciting anniversary except for the fact that every year Mike has to take the CFA on our anniversary weekend. This leads to me leaving town to celebrate one of my friends while Mike is left behind to take a dreaded test. This year my best friend (since we were 3) Nicole got married in the San Diego temple, so Mom, Dad, Liz, & I ventured off to attend. 

 We stayed at a condo in La Jolla on the local Windansea Beach. The beach was pretty empty and we considered it a hidden gem. Usually we stay on Mission Beach, which is always packed full of tourists. 

 Dad discovered Michelle Coulon Dessertier- we went back every single day for desserts!

 The Baked Bear on Mission beach was the ice cream cookie sandwich lover's dream.
