November Recap

November was super busy. I had many assignments and large projects for grad school, we went to many football and basketball games, and dates with Dallin and Dawn. We have become addicted to Kneaders cafe, and go their often for their sandwiches and plethora of desserts. I think we have gotten Dallin and Dawn hooked on them too.

at City Creek to celebrate Alyssa's birthday.

 Mike and Dallin were on a flag football team this semester. They did fairly well, they made it to the playoffs, but lost in the second round. 

 About 10 miles up Provo Canyon, if you turn off on to a random road, you will find the cutest ranches. I like riding on this road because I feel like i'm riding back home in Texas!

The second half of November was spent in Texas, which you can read about in my next post, Home for the Holidays.

Happy November! Its officially snowing today, as there are little flurries everywhere. The flurries are not sticking however (Thank goodness- i'm not ready for icy roads yet). This past weekend we were up near Salt Lake and decided to go hiking in the area, which led us to Alta Ski Resort. We did not know our hike would include knee deep snow. It was still about 50 degrees out though, so it was beautiful snow hiking weather. 

So completely unrelated to hiking in Alta: Halloween night, we got pizzas to go from Carrabas, and Dal and Dawn came over for scary movie night. We decided to make a "super couch" by putting together the hide-abed couch and the other couch. Unfortunately I have no halloween blankets, so this looks more like a Valentines super couch. We watched this movie from the 1980's that was just weird and creepy. It was called "Flowers in the Attic". I don't think I will ever watch it again, even though it is supposed to be a "halloween favorite"

October wrap-up

      I feel like this month has flown by! I am always busy with either work, grad school, or mister mike. I almost dread blogging these days because I seriously write a paper 3-4 times a week for grad school. Sometimes they are 13+ pages. I just want to throw grammar and APA out the window! i want ta write like dis an have noone care;;,,.-...

     Dallin has been dating the nicest girl Dawn since the beginning of the fall, and I have had so much fun hanging out with her all the time. Since she is new to Utah, and the weather has been fantastic, we have been taking her on numerous adventures in the mountains and canyon. This past weekend, the family got together for my father-in-law's birthday dinner. Even Mike's grandparents came. Afterwards we all drove to Wyoming to stay at Denae's house, since her son Bryant (our nephew) was getting blessed at church the next day. It was a beautiful blessing and he looked just adorable in his bow tie shirt!

Fall Leaves

                                                           Beautiful fall leaves have finally hit the Utah Valley. The weather has been wonderful, so I have been able to spend a large amount of time in the mountains! This past week, Mike and I hiked the Y. A few days later Dawn and I got to go walking in the canyon around Bridal Veil Falls to check out all the leaves. We also found the cutest puppy along the way. The leaves in the mountains have much more red/ orange color than those in the canyon. Enjoy!

Happy Fall!

October is such a pretty month! While living in Texas, I absolutely loved the fall because it meant cooler weather, pretty leaves, carmel apples, halloween festivities, baking, boots and football. When fall began in Utah, I was completely dreading the end of summer because it meant winter was coming. I have decided to try my hardest to forget about the dreaded winter that lays ahead, and instead focus on beautiful October. I have been up to my forehead in grad school papers and midterms, but I have been able to have a little fun here and there. 

Nicole and I ran the Color Me Rad 5K last weekend. I try to attend all of Mike's flag football games. On weekday afternoons I go to school with him to do research and work on assignments while he is in class. I think the Spirit of learning on campus causes me to be more productive.   I have already pulled out all of my boots and began wearing them during last week's cold front. Tomorrow I have a pumpkin painting craft date withe Shayla. I really enjoy making fall crafts, and look forward to having my own home with a fireplace I can decorate.

 Yes that is snow in the mountains behind us. Last week a cold front 

came in with 2 days of snow in the mountains. It only came halfway 

down the mountain, luckily.It was 40 degrees in the valley however. 

Warm back up fall!

This weekend looks like a nice fun fall relaxed week. Friday my dental office is getting our team and individual pictures taken for our website. We are having a football party at our house Friday night. (I get to make Pinterest food!!) Plus watching conference and enjoying time in the mountains hiking through the pretty leaves. (and submitting all my midterm papers. One is 12 pages long and counting...)
