We have been up to a lot of fun ever since we got back from Texas. I blame it on the holiday season :)
We went to "Hansel and Gretel" with Dawn and Dal. I am not sure how they got away with calling it a Christmas classic, since it is about a witch trying to cook children in her oven... It ended up being a symphony, ballet, opera performance. I was not expecting the opera part. I don't think I am the biggest opera fan...
We also went to SLC with Mike's family for dinner, shopping, and visiting the Temple Square lights. Afterward we went back to the Little America hotel to hot tub and swim. It was blizzarding outside, and the Little America has a heated indoor/ outdoor pool. So we got to swim outside while it was blizzarding on us. It was pretty awesome and one of my favorite things. We ended up not being able to drive home because it was snowing very hard, so we decided to stay in SLC over night. This ended up working out perfectly since the next day was our 1.5 year wedding anniversary. So we got a nice weekend celebration in.
Some of the pictures look blurry, but really it was just snowing pretty hard.
The newest family lovebirds.... ;)
Last year we bought a real Christmas tree, which I loved, but then we went out of town for 2 weeks and came home to a very dead Christmas tree. We barely touched it and all of the needles fell off. So this year we decided to just get a smaller fake one so we will not have to deal with a very dead tree again.
We also had our work Christmas party. I decided to make the "Hershey's Ultimate Brownies" which I saw in a magazine. Mine did not quite look as pretty as the magazine photo, but they are very delicious and I highly recommend them. (And I hate brownies so that is saying a lot)
For the work party, the dentists took us and spouses out to dinner at Macaroni Grill. There were 26 of us, so it was a large group. After, we went bowling and then had a gift exchange and desserts. It was really fun!
Surprise!! I forgot to tell everyone that I got Botox!!! It was a lovely procedure which I thoroughly enjoyed. Just kidding, but seriously, millions of pictures are always taken, and I feel the ones which get posted are always me at my worst.... But here are two of my fellow hygienists. One of them posted this picture on Instagram so I stole it.
I haven't yet mentioned the most exciting part of December! I finished and turned in a 47 page double space paper for one of my grad school classes. 47 pages is surprisingly only 9,500 words. Who knew so many pages had so little words?? Not I. But now I do. I am still recovering from the insanity it caused me. I finished up all my classes earlier last week and am now enjoying winter break. Mike will finish this Tuesday.
I hope everyone is completely loving the holiday season and call feel the love of Christ all around them! Don't forget to keep up with the 14 Day Walk with Christ. If anyone else has any favorite Christmas scripture activities, I would love to hear about them.
