Arizona

Last week I also got to leave town and go to Arizona Wednesday - Sunday. I couldn't have asked for better weather. 90's all weekend! I went with Kathy, Olivia, Calvin, Levi and Grandma Sue. (Mike was left behind because of school.)We stayed at the Floyd's in Phoenix. The main reason for the trip was to visit my aunt Michelle, and attend her baby shower. Unfortunately, on Monday before we came up, she was diagnosed with preeclampsia due to her blood pressure spiking during the pregnancy. The doctors sent her to the hospital where she has to remain until the baby is born. She is 35 weeks along, but the doctors are planning to induce her at 36 weeks. Luckily, the hospital let us change the baby shower location to one of their conference rooms, so we were able to celebrate with her. She was only allowed to leave her room for 1 hour, and had to be wheeled there in a wheel chair. There were about 20 people who showed up at the shower, and I think she felt loved. The other days of the trip were spent shopping, swimming, tanning, eating, chatting, and of course dog walking.  I walked Michelle's dog Snickerdoodle ever day while we were there. I also went to my cousin Jared's soccer tournament to cheer him on. I can't wait to meet my new cousin. He could either be a Samuel, Nicholas, or Christopher, and should be arriving next week.

  1. I love Arizona. My husband and I went to Phoenix a few years ago during spring break - gorgeous place!

  2. Ugh! I was just typing a super long comment and then my computer decided it was a good time to restart and update. Dang it!

I used to be in a huge ward with two relief societies and two elders quorums. It was horrible because we only knew half the ward. Our ward here is really big too but it has a lot of inactive people. I visit teach three people. Two of them are inactive. They live 10, 15, and 20 minutes away from my house. Not in the same direction as each other. My companion is also inactive. It is really annoying because even if they do come to church, I can't sit by them because I am in primary. I go straight from sacrament meeting to my classroom and then to sharing time where I do not talk to a single adult because I am babysitting kids and have to keep them reverent. It is seriously the worst calling I have ever had. This is more information than I will let myself post on my blog that ward people read, so thanks for letting me vent!

    1. I hear you Emily!! I think we almost need a secret email vent club! 2 of the 3 people I visit teach are also inactive (and avoid me like the plague), so I have yet to meet them. I wonder if you could request a new calling? if that is allowed... I always love reading about your adventures with the boys! I think you are an excellent mother and I can't wait to have kids. I will probably be texting you every day asking if things are normal. I'm sure everyone thinks their first child is an alien right?
