Texas girl meets Wyoming boy. They get married in the San Diego temple and live happily ever after...What is happily ever after? If by HAPPY you mean: "wild, crazy, laugh out loud, & wonderful", then we are living it. This is our happily ever after.
Let me just say that every day is an adventure when you are married to Michael Lemich.
Since we got back to Texas, we have been so caught up in the joys of newlywed life, that we kind of forgot to pay rent for July. I came home one afternoon to an eviction notice taped on the INSIDE of our door. (I found this to be incredibly creepy that someone I don't know was in my house without my supervision. Also that night, I made Michael look under the bed and check the closet for intruders before we went to sleep. He now thinks I'm a five year old.) The notice said that we had to be out of the apartment by the following day at midnight, regardless of whether or not we paid rent. I panicked, called Mike, and had him straighten things out with the landlord. So, after paying a ridiculous amount of late fees, we get to stay - Yay!
Here are just a few of our little "happily ever afters" from our first month of marriage :)
Lil Hops: Our one-legged duck friend from the duck pond
Turner Falls: Escaped the Texas heat by swimming, hiking & exploring in Oklahoma. Had date night at Chili's afterwards.
Fainting & wheel chairs: I fainted in the temple last week. Luckily I was standing by Mike & he caught me. Then they wheeled me out in a wheel chair. I hope I wasn't drooling.
Loud sheets: We have these expensive fancy 600 thread count sheets. I hate them, I can't sleep!
Lovely Lemich's: Mike's parents and 3 sibling came to Texas for the open house and we got to spend the weekend together!
Rangers: Watched the Rangers beat the Detroit Tigers 13-9 while eating lemon chills & dollar hot dogs.
Eviction notice: read above.
Lost in Long Beach: Spent over 90 minutes trying to get to our cruise ship, because Mike thought we could walk there from the rental car drop off. Eventually, a cop called a Taxi for us.
Burned Biscuits: I tried to disguise them to hide them from Mike. My attempt failed. Our oven runs incredibly hot.
Shark vacuums: I own the world's coolest vacuum!
Mexico: Spent our honeymoon snorkeling, kayaking, swimming, & shopping in Cabo San Lucas & Puerto Vallarta.
Village Pizzeria: The best pizza I have ever eaten, located on Coronado Island.
Kitchen Experiments: Mike is my guinea pig, Pinterest is my inspiration.
Kaboom Town: Spent July 3rd with my family, and 400,000 other people. Airshow, fireworks, and dancing to Emerald City. Late night dining at Ihop.
Fireworks: Fireworks are illegal in my town, so we took our stash to Bartonville and put on a show in a family's driveway that we had never met. The best part was they said "come back next year, we'll be here!" You gotta love Texans.
Penske: Mike is moving up in the world. He officially has his own business card!

What kind of psycho landlord do you have that would evict you for late rent?!
ReplyDeleteYou guys are adorable! I thoroughly enjoyed this post haha!
ReplyDeleteLove this post. Sounds like y'all are having the time of your life!! Congratulations!!! So happy for you, Sarah!
ReplyDeleteI just remembered that I forgot to pay rent the month after I found out I was pregnant with Emily. My landlord laughed with me when I told her what happened, but I still had to pay all the late fees. :P
ReplyDeleteI love your family blog! Don't worry about the burned bisquits, Mike is used to them. We lovingly call them hockey pucks. And regarding the rent, education is usually expensive. Thank goodness for online autopay for credit cards! If I had a nickel for every late payment I made . . . . !
ReplyDeleteI'm right there with you on late fees…. I could take a cruise with them all!!!!
DeleteI love all of your wedding pictures!
ReplyDeleteSarah, it has been so fun having you and Mike here to enjoy you both and to be a part of some of the fun things you've been doing! I love you both and will miss you guys when you head to Provo!
ReplyDeleteIf the first month is a glimpse into your life together you are going to have a fun, wild, adventurous time!
